Happy Oscar-week Quickflixers!
There is only four days to go until Hollywood's annual self-congratulatory ceremony (more commonly known as 'The Academy Awards) and we cannot wait. This week, we want to know your predictions for this year's winners and we also share our favourite victors from decades past.
We also review the new George Clooney comedy THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS, the Michael Jackson doco THIS IS IT (now on DVD) and go Head to Head over two of the biggest action films of the past couple decades (KILL BILL and THE MATRIX).
As if that weren't enough, we're giving away tickets to A SINGLE MAN and REMEMBER ME.
Christoph Waltz and Mo'Nique may walk away with Oscars, but the readers of QUICKFLIX NEWS are the real champions!

Casablanca
by

|
| In my opinion there is no greater movie made. Nearly every scene has a famous piece of dialogue and the cast deliver it perfectly. It has drama, comedy, romance and action. It is easy to see why most 'top ten' lists put this one at the top. This is a movie that should please most, no matter what genre you prefer (except maybe horror). |

Chinatown
by

|
| Chinatown begins as a very stylish homage to the 30s and 40s film-noir thrillers. But as it progresses, things start coming undone. Normal conventions of the Sam Spade era get literally shot to pieces. Roman Polanski twists our expectations around to make us think about what's going on and why. |
